Post 7 Creative Limitation

A creative limitation I have is that I don't think I'm very good at drawing. I have all these ideas in my head, but I find it nearly impossible to make them exist. In the TED Talk, the speaker mentioned that his goodbye art collection taught him to let go of his pieces and, in doing so, be okay with imperfect creations. This new perspective allowed him to create for the sake of learning and exploration. In the image attached, I messed up while trying to paint Mike Wazowski. While my painting is not what I imagined, I learned that I enjoy using the medium, which wouldn't have happened if I had refused to start.

Post 9 But why?

To get outside of my comfort zone, I decided to attempt to animate a short video for today's blog post. I used 2D pencil and pretty much winged the entire thing (pun intended). I was inspired by a meme I saw on Instagram.  Despite the video only being a few seconds long, it took me a very long time to create it. I have a greater respect for animators now.
